About AAMARP
The African American Master Artist Program (AAMARP) was founded in 1977 at Northeastern University by artist, educator, and activist Dana C. Chandler Jr. It is Boston’s oldest and only Black artist residency, rooted in the Black Arts Movement. For nearly 50 years, AAMARP has provided studio spaces, hosted exhibitions, and served as a creative hub for intergenerational artists from the African diaspora Boston.gov.
